TESTIMONIALS...

What I love about The Boxing Gym in Wentzville, is the support I get from the staff. I have always felt intimidated by the people in gyms whether it was other members or the staff, but not here! When I attended a group fitness class for the first few times, the instructor gave me tips on how to do the moves so that they were more on my level and encouraged me to remember that I will get better and be able to keep up as time passes. There were positive remarks that are encouraging, not put downs like I have received elsewhere ("Come on you can do better than that!") This really made me enjoy going to the gym because even though I was a beginner at this gym, I really feel like they care...and they do!

I have been a member of The Boxing Gym - Wentzville for just over 2 months.  During that time, I have lost a total of 25 lbs.  The experience provided by The Boxing Gym is like no other.  The instructors are very dedicated to each individual's success.  I would recommend The Boxing Gym to anybody.  Whether you are looking to get into amateur boxing or simply looking to get into shape, The Boxing Gym is the place to go!

Have you ever heard the old adage the best way to guarantee that you’ll never work out is to join a gym? Well that was true for me. I had been a member of another gym in the St. Louis area for 3 years paying nearly $40 a month and went a total 4 times (at most). Then last December I was driving by and saw ads for The Boxing Gym. I felt like I needed to get in shape, so I called Dave and signed up. Then things got busy with work from January until about May.

In May, I kept telling myself I’ll start on Monday. Well, every Monday came and went and I never showed up at the gym. I knew I needed to get in shape, but I was lazy and full of excuses – like it’s easier to shop for new (bigger) clothes, I’m too tired, my favorite show is on television and so on.

Then in October, I received an email from Dave about a new personal trainer who was offering a 30 minute personal assessment. I figured this was my chance to finally get off the couch and get in shape. Did I mention I had gotten engaged in June and had less than a year to look amazing in my wedding dress? After my first session I was hooked! I love the atmosphere of The Boxing Gym, people actually come here to work out. I decided to do the personal training for 12 weeks to stick to my goal of losing weight and fitting back into the closet full of size 4 pants I have hanging in there. Dave and Rob have been so supportive, it makes going to work out truly enjoyable, even when my homework is something that I think will kill me….they are right there cheering me on to run those last few minutes on the treadmill, or do those extra sit ups ….they know just what to say to get me to dig down deep and push through the pain, and there has been pain! The first night after working out I couldn’t even walk, but just 10 weeks later it’s all worth it. The results are already showing not only in my physical shape, but, in how I eat. I was addicted to soda…..we’re talking at least 4 cans a day and now I find it hard to drink even a full can in a day! I wore a size 2 dress to a friend’s wedding right before Christmas. Tell me losing 11.5 total inches including 5 inches off my waist and 12 pounds lost doesn’t spark your curiosity too.

My name is Patty King and this is my success story. Three years ago I weighed 160 lbs.
A huge part of my success can be attributed to what I learned from my personal trainer, Dave Hammack & The Boxing Gym. So far to date I have lost 20 lbs. Before I dreaded the thought of working out and now I can’t wait to get to the gym. It has become an integral part of my life that I really enjoy. I usually work out between 7-8 hours a week mixing things up between the cardio boxing & kickboxing classes, using the gym’s cardio equipment, and time with Dave at the Boxing Gym. I am not going to lie and say that it was easy in any way, nor did it happen over night, but I am living proof that hard work and motivation can produce results. Dave and The Boxing Gym has inspired me so much that I became a personal trainer myself and exercise has changed every area of my life for the better.
